Philharmonia of Greensboro presents “Pillow Pops” on February 5

GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 18, 2012) -- On Sunday, February 5, the OPUS Concert Series continues as the Philharmonia of Greensboro presents “Pillow Pops” at the Bur-Mil Park Clubhouse, 5834 Bur-Mil Club Road. Under the direction of Robert Gutter, the Philharmonia will join dancers from the NC Dance Project: the School at City Arts to entertain children of all ages. The concert theme is “Music & Animals.” Children will learn about different types of animals by listening to Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals,” narrated by Peter Perret. The concert will also feature Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” also narrated by Perret. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite PJs and bring a pillow and blanket, then sit back, relax, and learn all about the wonderful world of music and animals. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.
